2021/22 Options Process

2021/22 Options Process

Update: 19/03/2021

This week, pupils will be issued with a copy of the relevant options sheets for next session. This is in order that they can take it home to discuss their plans and choices for session 2020/21 with you.

The next stage in the options process is for each pupil to have an individual options interview with their Pastoral teacher or Depute Head teacher to select their final choices for next session. In previous years, we have invited parents into school to be involved in the interview process. However, due to current restrictions this unfortunately cannot happen. S4 and S5 options interviews will take place after the Easter break. If any parent/carer of pupils in S4 or S5 wish to discuss their childs options, please call the relevant pastoral teacher prior to the interview date. Individual interview times will be distributed to S4 & S5 pupils when they return on 19th April. Dates for the S4 and S5 interviews are below:

S5 pupil interviews: Wednesday 21st April

S4 pupil interviews:  Thursday 22nd April

S2 and S3 options interviews will take place prior to the Easter break in school during the times that pupils are in the building. If any parent/carer of a pupil in S2 or S3 wishes to discuss their childs options prior to the interview, please contact the pupils pastoral teacher.

These interviews will take place on the following dates when pupils are in school:

S3: Tuesday 30th March morning or Thursday 1st April afternoon

S2: Monday 22nd March afternoon or Wednesday 24th March morning

After you discuss the options with your child, it would be helpful if they could pre-populate the subjects they wish to take forward into the options sheet and bring it with them to the interview. The levels of study will be discussed and added by the Pastoral teacher/Depute Head conducting the interview.

We look forward to working in partnership with you and your child to help them choose pathways which maximise their potential, and continue on their learning journey at Johnstone High School.

Below is the options forms for each year group. In addition, the college school programme for column D & E in S5 and S6 for next session is below:
